A friend of mine has been begging me to compete on American Ninja Warrior for years but for some reason, this year I decided to give it a shot. In June 2016, I started training to become a ninja warrior. It was the perfect time because I was healing from injuries and was feeling very out -of-shape. It was just the excuse I needed to push my body to its limit and re-gain all of my college gymnastics strength.

My ninja journey has been amazing and I am enjoying every minute of it. I have learned from my past goals that it really is about the path and not always just about the destination. I get frustrated with where I am but I also acknowledge how far I’ve gotten and that’s what keeps me motivated. There are days where I can barely lift myself or I am completely sore. Then there are days where I surprise myself with how many reps I did and how much I’ve improved.
As with everything in life, you have to be proud of yourself for wherever you may find yourself on your path. It’s easy to get lost in the present moment when your next deadline is around the corner  or you are stressing about a decision that you have to make. That is why it is important to take time for yourself and travel. Explore a piece of land you’ve never been to and center yourself with reality.
I submitted an application and video to the casting crew of American Ninja Warrior and now I wait to see if they will select me to run the course!
Stay tuned and never give up no matter what anyone tells you!
